App Store vs Google Play Net Revenue Calculator

This models standard digital sales only. Paid apps, one-time digital goods, and non-subscription IAP-like scenarios belong here. Recurring subscription billing, alternative billing programs, country-specific policy exceptions, tax advice, and official settlement statements are out of scope for v1.

Reminder: this is a directional estimate, not an official Apple or Google settlement statement. Google’s 15% tier is modeled with a simple first-$1M runway split using your current YTD earnings input.
Formula notes
Fee-bearing revenue = gross customer spend ÷ (1 + VAT) × (1 − refund rate). Apple fee is 15% or 30% based on the selected mode. Google Play uses 15% on remaining first-tier runway and 30% above that when enrolled; otherwise it uses 30% for the full scenario.

Why is there a separate subscription comparator?

Subscription proceeds have different Apple and Google rules than one-time digital sales. Mixing them here would make the page slower, noisier, and easier to misunderstand.

What does Google YTD earnings mean here?

It represents the revenue already counted toward Google Play’s first-$1M 15% tier. The calculator then decides how much of the current scenario still fits inside the discounted bucket.

Are taxes, FX, or alternative billing included?

No. VAT/GST is handled only as a simple rate removal. FX conversion, alternative billing programs, territory-specific exceptions, and tax filing logic are intentionally excluded from v1.

Can I copy the output into a memo or launch deck?

Yes. The summary box is built for quick sharing in docs, notes, or internal launch planning. Just keep the assumptions with the output so others do not confuse it with actual settlement data.
